Oh yeah, i also remember reading in a music tech mag that he had built a shit-hot studio...there was also a photo...(it was a feature on studio design i think, and his was just an example among several others...). This was over 5/6 years ago so I cant remember exactly...

What exactly do you mean by 'stirring'? I'd love to know what he's been up to for the last decade (apart from Switzerland etc) - is he still in the music buisness?...is he still in contact with Graham and the lads? What are the chances of him doing some new material with 808? (maybe even Gerald coul...

Bought Muzik mag the other day and they've given some props to our lads in another 'Top 50' feature. The article's entitled '50 Festival Moments' and 808 are at number 34: 808STATE, Glastonbury 1992 "Sunday night, the weather's good. Brain-blistered by endless chemicals and an awesome firework displ...

Nick - forgot to mention - there seems to be a repress of Voodoo Ray doing the rounds at the moment on US label Warlock. Noticed it on several dance websites... It features (copied from http://www.juno.co.uk): Voodoo Ray (extended mix, "Rham On Acid" mix, Frankie Knuckles/David Morales "Paradise Bal...

About a year ago I had a mad session snapping up old skool acid compilations on Ebay - found some great (rare) stuff. 'House Hallucinates' - sound of London, Acid House vol 1 (white label compo which was recently featured in Muzik as a 'collectable') and a 4 cd 'bargain-bin' set of about 50 tracks. ...

Nice website Ian; I had no idea you were such a fan of Tom M etc. This is bit of a long-shot, but did you record the first ever 'One World' on radio1 - it was Ian Pooley, but Tom M introduced it - blinding mix of 80's style house/deep etc. My mate taped over it a few months ago (pr*ck) and i'm dyin ...

I'd say that Pacific was pretty much a completely original track which spawned a thousand copies/samples, and a new genre of music (Ambient House). Maybe there's a jazz influence, but what struck me about Pacific the first time i heard it was that it sounded like nothing else. The only element of Pa...

Just bought Tom Middleton's excellent new compilation on Hooj; highly recommended IMHO. It's 3 cds categorized as Rhythm/Melody/Harmony and not a single duff track. Ranges from breaks/funk/electro to deep house to downtempo all mixed up via ProTools - each track is so well chosen they seem to 'melt'...

Seriously, this is really shit - and it looks even shittier from the PR viewpoint. Will anyone care apart from us 'regulars' when it finally sees the light of day? Obviously the music will speak for itself, but how hard is it to release a record these days? I still hope they can play loads of festiv...

Sorry, trainspotting again; I taped FC Kahuna's E-mix last night, and lo behold they played the AFX remix of 'Flow Coma'. Mixed well next to the dirty disco-house/breaks/tech. Last tune was Tom Middleton's new Cosmos track which I fu**ing adore. On a completely unrelated note; bought St. Germain's '...

I'd like to hear a housed-up, trippy version of Pacific - bring back the African chanting! Loads of live bongos/congas over the top - could make it really brazillian/tribal...loose the hard breaks though Ancodia would be excellent live - dont think it's been done yet? Daz could do some freestyle scr...

Forgot to mention - I taped the essential mix last Sunday (was supposed to be Sasha from Miami) but to my horror i'd recorded a special 'chilled' mix by Annie Nightingale out of respeck for some 'old dear' popping her clogs. However, all was not lost (it was quite good actually) because Pacific Stat...
