Terry Nutkins is a much loved TV animal observer in the UK; rose to fame on Jonny Morris' 'Animal Magic' and went on to present 'The Really Wild Show'.

Would you class this as 'Off Topic' Markus?

Feel like a bit of a grass (?) writing this...but i'm sure everyone would want to know  - I've heard (with reasonably good authority) that 808 are in 'talks' about a concert in Manchester this summer. A friend is seeing *someone* from Manc involved in promotions etc, and reckons a meeting has ...

I'll second some of those questions; often wondered about the effects/compression used, especially the reverb on 'Ninety'... 'Sunrise' in particular, is drenched in a very long (EQ-ed?) effect which gives the track a real atmosphere...a similar effect is used on the FM synth bells at the start of An...

Pete, you've hit on another of my fave labels there...i expect you know most of the artists i would have mentioned, but if not check the 'Artificial Intelligence' compilation series...also Squarepusher (manic Aphex style D'n'B with live Bass). Lastly (and probably the coolest thing i've bought) is a...

Good to hear the gig rocked; i had a feeling it would be a tough one following a 'superstar' DJ. Truth is, the young crowd who are following these DJs, are only doing the 'rave' thing that most of us here were doing 10 years ago: it's up to acts such as 808 to continue educating the scene that they ...

Sounds like a good day at the office for 808? Can someone give a more detailed review of the set - ie. is Pacific still 'breakbeat'?; what's been done to Cobra Bora?; what were the new tracks like? - are they breakbeat, d'n'b, house or techno? Anyone make a bootleg? <font size=-1>[ This Messa...

While we're talking about R&S... without doubt the biggest, baddest and best cut was 'Energy Flash' by Joey Beltram. Nothing sounded like it at the time, and nothing does now. Still rocks played out today. The rest of the Joey Beltram EP (My Sound etc) is also f*cking A1. Most sampled rave tune next...

Definitely check out Circulation, probably one of the better 'new' acts around...they actually fly in samples and efx with the vinyl. Alison Limerick should also be worth catching - 'Where the Love Lives' is the ultimate piano/diva toon. X-press 2 are class (dont be put off by 'Lazy'), Morillo and R...

Markus - you're having a laugh aren't you? I can't believe a former member of 808State would end up writing that kind of bumfluff. If he did, then the royalty cheques must have dried up.
