Thanks for the reply Graham - there can't be many bands who reply directly to postings from fans! Much appreciated. Didn't know about the Circus controversy. Tossers. What about Warp? They surely would be good for 808, they originated in The North (or what people in England call the North - in case ...

What's the Plan?

A general point: What's the plan for 808 State in terms of a new album, etc? I know there's been the Prebuild and New Order stuff recently, and the "side projects". Are there any plans for a new album soon or are they just gonna wait and see what happens?

Are 808 still signed to Circus?

Leo Leo & Magical Dream

Does anybody know what became of "Raagman" who did Leo Leo, and the girl who sang on "Magical Dream" off the 90 album? Also, does anybody else have the In Yer Face Japanese import, the sleeve notes say that there is 2 different mixes of Leo Leo but they're both exactly the same. What's that all about?

I think there's got to be a mass market for Massey's mixes (sorry). Personally, the FSOL, Electronic, David Bowie, YMO, A Certain Ratio and Intastella (Drifter) mixes are my favourites. People would be blown away by the Intastella one... it sounds like Led Zep. Remixes seem to have been the bands fo...

I think this is the best discussion that has been up for a while. I agree with a lot of what has been said, especially by Graham. I think if 808 had put some stuff out a bit quicker than they did after ex:el and associated singles. Tracks like In Yer Face are probably what got a significant amount o...

You can buy the Japanese version here...

http://www.badnews.co.jp/main/en/public ... cgi?id=808

It's Bad News Records, who released it in Japan.

2,300 Yen plus shipping.

I'm sure you'll get the US version somewhere.

Cheers.

Item #336220 - looks like a promo CD. I think there were photos of this on this site before it was released. Item #339983 is the normal UK CD release. I'd be stunned if you couldn't buy copies of Outpost quite easily, even HMV has it to buy online... http://www2.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetail...

Quadrastate

Got to be worth bringing back out on CD, especially as it means you can play your vinyl less often and hopefully save it a bit! Be great if it could come out as a double with some remixes. I'd love to hear "Firecracker" re-mixed by 808. Sounded ace at the time, my 3rd favourite 808 track.

808 Live Glasgow Barrowlands '93

In 1993, round about the time of the "Gorgeous" album, me and a couple of mates bought briefs to see 808 Live at the Barras. I remember getting away from work early on the Friday because 808 were to be signing copies of the album in HMV in Argyle Street - but it never happened. A couple of hours bef...

Yeeha! M/cr here we come! The last time I was there was for a Celtic friendly game against Man U (think it was either Steve Bruce or Brian McClair's testimonial). After drinking all day and dancing in front of some huge office, we got on a bus and asked to be taken to Salford, "You're in Salford" wa...

Check out the Warp 10 series of compilations, 1 - 2 & 3. (Influences, Classics and Remixes). Brilliant - 808 appear with Let Yourself Go on the first one! Another good track has to be Hey! Hey! Can U Relate by DJ Mink.

Sorry for the delay in replying... I've got a map which I'll e-mail to Markus. It's a pretty easy place to find, basically a big shopping centre and it's well signposted (actually has it's own motorway off-ramp) either junction 25a or 26a. As for how to recognise me... Unbelievably, I won't be going...
