oh, now i see what you mean. Indeed it would be a superb idea, but even if it happened, i cant see Martin or Gerald getting in on the act. :(

Back To Mine here we come
(i just hope they wouldnt fill it with invader-style stuff....)

Dr. Walsh, what you mean is basically a "Back To Mine" album. I'd thought of that before, it would be so cool if 808 did one :D

studying to 808 is pointless, all youll end up doing is ignoring your work, and listening to the phenomenal rhythm :D

I would have to agree about Orbus Terrarum though...you cant really dance to it, but its kickass all the same and so great to study to

yeah this track was top notch :) Loved it from the first note onwards! I've not been keen on some of the demos on here, for example Tubs is pretty poor, as was moors, and minton too. Nice demo of bond though ;) any chance that the instrumental lopez could find its way onto here at any stage? Also, h...

But play a versatile set and everyone will go out and buy the new album, i guarantee it ;) ...

OT

i returned home from Uni yesterday - the album was waiting for me when i arrived, from simbiotic  i went straight to suntower, as of the three i already knew, that was the only one i liked. Pure class...after about an hour and a half, i was acquainted with most of the album, but i have deliver...

sleeve

strange dessign really...and they didnt redesign the boxes to accomodate it either. Notice that the back doesnt click on properly - it sort of half pushes in and often comes loose whenever you take the CD out...

not that it matters - finally, new material!!! :D

808

well they'll be lucky to sell more than one in each county, seen as their so underrated these days :( Seems strange that, say, a band like Orbital would have been so much more successful than 808 in the last 8 years or so, when their music is really not as interesting, and often boring.... my copy o...

not that it matters - it has no appeal to anyone other that hardcore 808 fans like those on the site. And they will already have the material anyway. If it was out, theyd be lucky to sell 1000 copies :(

invader should not be on there, it's awful. And there should be at least one obscure pacific mix (maybe Pacific 516?) in there. Finally, replace Minton with Baton Rouge and you have your album :P

my conclusion is that it should be a 2-disc set, then it all goes on

i think Norman Cook is to blame. It's his annoying remix which labelled the band incorrectly (and made them a household name, which they didnt really need to be), and i guess they expect to sell their albums more if they move in that direction, musically. Whenever you hear/see footage of them DJing,...

yes indeed it is :D i would also like to reccomend the Jakatta album, seen as it is far more mature than i expected, and away from the 'compromise-the-style-to-try-and-sell-it-to-ibizaesque-wankers' attitude. Several stunning tracks on there :P I bought the new GA album at the same time, and althoug...

Re: Recommendations

I too would reccomend the Royksopp album, it is about as flawless as you'll get :P - except perhaps Poor Leno, which is somewhat mediochre imo. Perhaps the track used to be called 'Leno' and they realised it was very 'poor' relative to the rest of the album, and so amended the name  The best a...

my only knowledge of Simian are their remixes of FSOL 'papua new guinea' and Zero 7 'destiny', and both those remixes suck big time. Hope ill hear something soon to change my opinion. 8)
