To your second point: Don't remember stating that the old stuff doesn't inspire me; quite the opposite - I often find myself sifting through the older part of my record collection, even if only to get a 'vibe' before starting a new track. I'm also guilty of nostalgia, looking for old gems on Ebay a...

If it makes you feel better look at what the Prodigy have turned into. I think 808 State need to focus on putting out good music, it's no longer the early 90s you have a lot of extremely bad dance music dominating the charts. <font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: stephen on 2002-07-03 02:57 ]<...

After another careful listen to Newbuild I'm willing to bet hard cash it's either the first track Sync/Swim or the third track Dr. Lowfruit that was remastered from vynil.

I noticed the ZTT album 90 version of Cobra Bora the production quality sounds different then the UTD State 90 version. I like the ZTT version better. Oh yeah I cant decide wich version of Ancodia I like better, the ZTT version or the UTD. State 90 version. Album 90 on ZTT will go down as a classic...

I have lots of 808 State studio questions: What signal processors did 808 State use on the Albums Ex:cel and 90? I noticed the compression is really tight especially on UTD 90 which I assume was remastered in the United States with Tommy Boy. What type of reverb processor was used on the album Newbu...

My favorite versions of Pacific are: Pacific 202 Pacific - break Listening to their last album I think 808 State need to go back to the Manchester techno/ break beat sound and lay off the drum n' bass. Lets take Slam Alein Radio for example, you could tell these blokes were influinced by the album E...

the birds sample was also featured on various keyboards produced by Technics in the late 80's. I remember that from sessions playing around in the music shops, long before i got my own equipment. Was it one of those with digital drum samples? I did my own remix of pacific on a casio sk-1 when I was ...

I always thought it was a D50.

They were done by sampleing a major 7th chord from the juno 106 into
the casio fz1 and then playing it off that
