Just pre-ordered from HMV.com. £8.99 with free UK delivery. Again listed as 26 May 08 release date.
Cheers Jonnycab. Play were at £10.99 so I've cancelled them and ordered from HMV.

Likewise, Amazon were £11.45 inc. postage! Cheers, Jonnycab. :D

iDJ Quadrastate Review

Post by Ancodia »

from iDJ Magazine (issue 100 June 2008):

Following the much-loved re-issue of their debut 'Newbuild' (and the archived treats of 'Prebuild'). Rephlex continue to deliver 808 State's pure insanity to the kids with their sophomore set from 1989. What strikes you hardest here, after all this time, isn't how well the tracks have aged, but how weird it all sounds. Even by today's standards, remember, this is being released on a label that prides itself on some of the oddest artists in a scene of oddballs, tracks like 'State Ritual' sound like a couple of fortnights in a bad baloon, all chaotic slap bass and melodies clashing against each other with no respect for harmony. And it's bloody great. Of course the sultry tones of 'Pacific State' can never fail to inspire all manner of euphoric raving-in-your-flip-flops daydreaming, but the instant appeal of that track belies the pure joy you can get out of the raucous 'Firecracker' or the head-down drum machine workout of 'Let Yourself Go'. It was an instant classic then and it remains a milestone in acid house (and everything that follows) and it still sounds amazing today, so bow down and show your respect. 4/5

Blimey, reviews have started already? Darn... Will go and investigate... I guess DJ Magazine and Mixmag will follow shortly, then... :)

Does anyone know if this was officially released in the UK today? It was listed on EPM (press site) as 19/5/08, however most retailer sites seem to have a release date of 26/5/08 - Boomkat is saying ships in 4 days?

I think you've answered your own question...

The EPM Press Release has always stated 26/05/08... And Boomkat's pre-order pretty much clinches that!

purchased via amazon.com (american-i think)
although i have also recently purchased the vibert/simmonds rodulate from amazon.co.uk...cause there WAS an earlier release date in the uk...later in the usa...but now it looks to be the same date, with delays from the distributer...oh well i feel it will be worth it!

i assume quadrastate is available in the uk?

Yes, suppose I pretty much did Nick.

However I was sure the EPM site listed it as 19/5, that's why I questioned this as I thought since it was Rephlex's press site the date should have been correct.

Amazon have just delayed my order yet again, they obviously don't have a clue of the actual release date. So I've cancelled my order and have now ordered from HMV.com. Fingers crossed :-?
