BBC sessions

Postby IanPeel » 30 Oct 2007 18:29

Calling all agents (and Graham) with a query I've been mulling...

Have 808 ever recorded any BBC radio sessions? Not just (John) Peel Sessions, but also maybe for other Radio 1 shows, local radio / Manchester stations or, latterly, 6Music?

I think the Quadrastate tracks were orginally planned for a Peel Session, although I haven't heard about them doing any 'proper' Peel Sessions.

The Town and Country Club was recorded as in concert, I remember going to the BBC to mix it.
No Peel sessions ..Possably Wembley conference center in 93 was broadcast..not shure ..does it have to be BBC ,whats your thinkin?

Thanks Graham. I'm just trying to build a master list of ZTT/related material recorded for the BBC. Possibly for release, possibly not. I recently came across some very early, very raw Art of Noise material recorded for a Janice Long session that was ear-poppingly cool... which is what has sent me down this track lately...

Pat Illingworth just wrote "I was listening to Gideon Coe on BBC6 Music last night and he played a live 808 State set from a 1993 Town and Country Club gig in London. Pacific State, Ten times ten and Cubik. Good stuff."

I've got a CDR of the 1993 T&C Club show - not bad! :)

Good that it's still being played out on the radio :D

Our Pat (Illingworth ) is in that new Sony Walkman advert as one of the drummers (see the making of on his my Space)
http://www.myspace.com/patillingworth .
That might have beaten the Guiness world record for most diferent instruments played simultaneuosly at any one time ,of which Me and Paddy were participents @ Chorlton High School in 2005.
