Graham Massey remixes Chrome Hoof's "Pronoid"

Postby markus » 18 Dec 2007 22:48

Graham has completed a remix of 'Pronoid' taken off Chrome Hoof's album 'Pre-Emptive False Rapture'. Further details on Graham's mix, e.g. release date to follow as soon as it's official. Chrome Hoof can be compared to Toolshed. This is what they said on Graham's myspace:
"THANX FOR THE WICKED RMX GRAHAM, WE ALL LOVE IT!!"

Delayed to the 30th June (according to the distributor's website).

Here's the blurb (which states May):

"Good news for all you Chrome Hoof fans!!

To coincide with their UK tour in May, we will be releasing a limited edition 12 inch single the very same month featuring a radio edit of their dancefloor filler Pronoid, plus two completely different remixes for all you devoted Chrome Hoofers out there!

First up, the legendary Graham Massey (808 State) lends some super dirty synths and electronic beats adding an icy chill to the proceedings, whilst man-of-the-moment Herve (AKA Count Of Monte Cristal) weighs in with a ferocious hardcore lo-fi rework of “Tonyte”.

Packaging is suitably maximalist, compared to the mirrorboard simplicity of the album, and features a disco sleeve of live photos of the band in full flight."

If you're quick (i.e. before tomorrow), you can listen to it (if you're in the UK) from last week's Rob Da Bank Radio 1 Show.

Listen here

(It's about 50 minutes into the show).

It's also got plays on XfM...

Superb stuff! 8)

Boomkat's take:

Those disco/metal fusionists Chrome Hoof return with this fine remix EP, following up on the success of their Pre-emptive False Rapture album from last year, the band (comprising members of hitherto entirely unrelated acts Cathedral and Spektrum) have recruited Graham Massey and The Count Of Monte Cristal for reworkings. The 808 State producer steals the show with an incredibly rambunctious 'Pronoid' remix, sounding just about as lively as electronic music gets with plenty of expressive synth manoeuvring, and of course those timeless drum machine hits. The Count goes for a more contemporary sounding rave-up with his 'Tonyte' overhaul, which in another context would probably sound a bit daft, but given his source material it makes perfect sense. ...

Haven't read that long sentences since being at the U.

But it sounds promising, nevertheless...
