808 State Make Bold Political Move!

Post by Ancodia » 01 Apr 2008 15:46

Quite unbelievably, 808 State have turned down the chance to open the Olympic Games in China, due to pressure from groups advocating a free tibet and other existing commitments.
Organiser of the opening ceremony Idoda Fun Shun had hoped to have 808 State play a rendition of their hit 'Olympic', also know as the theme to UK show 'The Word', during a dazzling laser show. Arrangements had already been made for the event to begin at 8:08pm on 8/08/08 in honour of the Manchester legends and their 20th anniversary. Former members Gerald Simpson and Martin Price had been invited to join the current line-up for a historic reunion.
Apparently an encore of Donkey Doctor to highlight the manufacturing capabilities of China has been scraped mid-production.
