Doman & Gooding - Pacific State (Remixes Pts I & II)

Postby markus » 13 Sep 2009 12:06

From http://www.residentadvisor.net/forum-read.aspx?id=60170

James Doman & Pete Gooding - Pacific State (Filthy Rich Mix) 7:22
Released 16 March 09 (available digitally from Beatport)

Listen to it on http://www.myspace.com/domangooding where there is also an Afterlife Mix (also featured on mixed CD Bargrooves Over Ice released 26 Jan 09) . Additionally on their myspace page there is Will Bailey mix, which I think solves the question of topic http://www.808state.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2002

Actually I have been very cautious not to listen to any Pacific bootleg remixes. Vinyl bought and put on the shelf. So digital releases isn't that interesting to me.

One of the vinyls has a brilliant remix of Facination by Human League though.

I agree that the afterlife mix is much better than the filthy rich mix.

I personally know James Doman from many years ago when I worked for an animation company called Nelvana in Toronto.

James worked for Energy 108 and had a brillian show called "Hardrive at Five". He later migrated to the UK and formed a group called Cargo Funk and I'm not sure what happened eversince. This is the 1st I've heard about him since that time. Brilliant.

When I knew him, he had a recording studio full of amazing gear in the basement of our animation studio. So on occasion I'd hang out with him and listen to what he worked on at the time. It was a very inspiring time in my life.

What a small world indeed.
