Designer of Ninety front cover?

Postby 'Steve' » 03 May 2010 00:44

Hey 808ers, it's been a while.

I'm doing some research into graphic design and one piece I'm referencing is the album cover for Ninety, which has always been a favourite of mine. However I haven't been able to dig up any information on its designers, and if possible I'd really like to know who worked on it and if they were involved in any other projects.

Any help would really be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

It's the legendary Mark Farrow. Responsible of nearly all Pet Shop Boys as well as the DeConstruction label (M People) for many years, amongst a lot of other things.

He also did 10x10, Plan 9 and 808:88:98, if my memory serves me right.

Yes 90 was Pete Farrow , not sure he did any of the other sleeves.
I remember the color sceme for 90 was vased on a bottle of Purdeys,The Ravers drink of choice back them.
Another guy who did some of our sleeves was Trevor Jackson-

He did the MC Tunes stuff, graphic wise at least. Gary McLarnon did the photography for "Tunes Splits the Atom" -He became Sasha's Manager and now manages Mr Scruff .
Johnson and Pannas did Ex EL/ Newbuild/Gorgeous and a lot of the singles fom around then. That relation ship goes vack to Biting Tongues and Factory They did Troublehand and Compressor. Mick Peek did Quadrastate,He worked under Johnson and Pannas in another office ,they must have been busy.

Very nice to know.

What's special about it?

Of course we have previously learned that you Graham did the logos along with Howard Walmsley.

This is fascinating! Always been a fan of, and massively influenced by, the 808 visual style, so this is incredibly useful. Cheers!
