About The Other Side of Midnight
In Partnership with Theprintspace, Scotts Menswear, City Life, Richard Goodall Gallery and Old Granada Studios. Supporting Teenage Cancer Trust.
Old Granada Studios have teamed up with Print Space, producers of the successful Lost In Music exhibition, Richard Goodall Gallery and City Life to host an exhibition of photographs spanning six decades that reveal our most immersive moments when we live for the music, venture beyond twilight and escape to the dancefloor.
Old Granada Studios will host the Lost In Music exhibition alongside capsule collections of nightlife images from internationally respected photographers including Ian Tilton, Elaine Constantine, Jocelyn Bain Hogg, Tilman Brembs, Brian Cannon, Dean Chalkley, Kevin Cummins, Suzy Del Campo, Grant Fleming, Alex Gerry, Martyn, Goodacre, Stuart Griffiths, Gavin Mills, Daniel Newman, Normski, Matthew Smith, Dave Swindells, David Titlow, Dougie Wallace, Peter J Walsh, Marco Grey and George Quann-Barnett.
Taking the lead from the success of ‘Lost In Music’, the exhibition will not only feature images from recognised photographers, it will also show pics from the moments that only the performers or their fans encountered. OGS is calling out for submissions from anyone that, whilst immersed in the moment, snapped a shot from behind the decks, from the stage, on the dancefloor or in the crowd that captured the magic.
The exhibition will run for ten days in collaboration with the Parklife and Stone Roses events that feature in Manchester over the duration.
LOST IN MUSIC;
Lost in Music is the brainchild of theprintspace, the UK’s leading fine art printer and pho- tographic pro-lab. With over 40,000 clients, they produce work for many of the world’s top photographers and visual artists, from Steven Klein and Annie Liebovitz to Damien Hirst and everyone in between.
Exhibited in London, February 2016. Lost in Music is a tribute to the obsessives, the hedonists, the musical eccentrics and the dancers who were the founding members of the dance music institution and those who continue to fuel its evolution. To the artists developing wild new techniques to re-imagine recorded music, in the process revolutionising the way we create and enjoy it. To all those Lost in Music - past, present and future.
From the unsung pioneers in underground clubs, to the stadium-filling superstars, this is the story of creativity, vision, imagination and having the time of your life to the beat of the century. These are the moments captured by the people who played it, danced to it and, amazingly, somehow managed to photograph it without losing their camera.
A story that is still being told. A story that is part of us all, and we of it.
Friday 10th to Monday 20th June 2016, open daily 12 noon to 7pm"
