808 mentioned in Muzik magazine

Spotted on p114 of May 2003 issue of Muzik magazine:

'Buried treasure' with King Britt

808 State 'Pacific State' (909 mix) (Creed)

King Britt says about the record:

"This has the same chord progressions as the original, but the sax line is completely different. It's sampled from the Miles Davies sound track to the 1987 film 'Siesta'. I got it on promo when I was working at Tower Records.

It really raises eyebrows on the dancefloor, as people are expecting something else, but I think they recognise it. But, man, I can't even find it now."

Fantastic Doctor, these are the postings I love most. Will go out and buy this soundtrack asap. Have been getting into Miles over the last few years.
Thanks Walshy!

Dont have my copy of Muzik to hand, but in the 'EQ' section at the back, there's an interview with H-Foundation who cite 808's 'Newbuild' as an inspiration...
