Acid house revival :)

Post by Dr.Walsh » 01 Oct 2003 00:17

Manchester music from the late '80's and early 90's seems to be making a comeback in the mainstream. :)

I've seen two new compilations - one called 'Sorted' (a MoS compilation) and another new 'Madchester' one (saw it in Tescos - can't remember the name!) which had 808 State tracks on them. :)

A bit cheesy I know, but they are going to be introducing a whole new audience/generation to delights similar to those that many older dance heads have already experienced. :)

Mixmag also seems to be going some way to 'getting back to its roots'. In this months' edition there's a two page review of the Tribal Warehouse party, and their free CD of the month is called 'Acid House Reborn', mixed by Jon Carter. :)

All tunes are 'nu-skool' acid house from the time period known as the 21st century, apart from Hardfloor 'Acperience' from the time period known as 1992. Included on the mix is LFO 'Freak' and The Chemical Brothers 'Electronic Battleweapon 6'. :)

Yeah - there's some dodgy choices on that compilation isn't there?

But, then again, MoS are a dodgy organisation really aren't they?

I wonder who they paid to sort the track listing out?

Must have been on some good gear

Keeps the vibe alive in one form or another though doesn't it? :)

Actually, not very 'sorted' at all, really thinking about it...or are the indie tunes re-mixed or originals, Markus?

Pronoia for everyone... spread love all over the world!

Mr Egg

Cheers for the offer but cannae make it. My bird had a chick recently and I'm a bit hen pecked so she won't let me shell out for a wee jolly.

You're right about the Lenny Dee mix, think that's what caught my eye.

Anyway, have a cracking time. I'm sure that it will be eggcellant. Don't get too fried. Ha ha ha ha ha.

Huv a good one.
