Darrens Remixes + 808 MP3s

Post by BADGERMAN » 31 May 2004 17:17

In the interview in front a year and a half back Graham said that Darren used to remix loads of different tracks even elvis tracks. Is there any chance that these could find thier way on to the site? Im sure every one else would love to hear them.

Cant wait to hear the Metal Monkey Machine version of Cubic. I remember when I was younger there used to be a large amount of rehashed versions of cubic. One I remember had the main tune from cubic but had the notes mixed up to make another tune - it was quite a fast tune (out in about 94) has anyone got a copy of this?

On the subject of mp3s has anyone got a copy of Busy child (808 mix) by the Global Method or is the only way by finding it by finding the old advert for the airforce. It would be great to have the track available on the web site.

Whats the chances of having the latest versions of Cubic and Pacific on the site? And without sounding like a stuck record - the Vigo version of In Yer Face and Fuzz Nasty? Or include the first 3 on State to State Vol 3!! Or tour so I can hear the newer versions of Pacific /cubic.

Its anoying me Ive still not seen 808 live - got close to it the last time but was best man at a stag weekend so couldnt make it!! Any chance of a few live dates 2004/5?

Did anyone find a copy of the original TV word mix with the trumpets etc. And has Ian Peel managed to find the 30 second 808 remix that was never aired. Would love to listen to these.

Did 808 do a longer version of this unreleased mix of olympic? If so is it lying around in the archives?

Also in the archives is there a demo version of Balboa? Its a great track and I would love to hear a more raw version of it if it exsists. Or samples to attempt a remix.

Good to see tracks on the sound page - keep em coming!

UB40 etc

The point in your first post regarding Darren remixing allsorts isn't exactly true. What Graham was talking about was Darren's mix tapes. In which he mashes things up, this was the inspiration for the track with UB40.

Cheers for the reply Ancodia. I would like to hear the tapes have you got a copy or has anyone out there got a copy of them?

Another question: "Lopez (No Regret - edit)" does a full version exsist? Perhaps on a promo or in someones tape collection??

Thanks for the info PS the 808 Remix page on your old Ancodia web site was invaluable to me for collecting 808 related material in the past years - so cheers for that. It was your old web site wasnt it?

Yes it was my site, I gave up the address as I hadn't the time to run the site and it was too much duplication and an updated version of it is now the discogs pages on this very site.

Which release are you talking about with regard to the edit? And what is the track time?

Also Ancodia, have you managed to track down a copy of Crystal Methods - Busy Child 808 state mix. Or know of how to find a copy of the advert. I have been unsuccessful so far.

I have also been trying to track down the original word mix from the Tv using Tv theme download sites but have had no luck. Have you managed to get a copy of it? Or know of any sites that have it?

CD5: 1997 UK (ZTT / WEA; ZANG 87 CD / 0630-17584-2)
4:31 Lopez (original)
6:23 Lopez (metaphorically)
6:44 Lopez (hard on)
3:36 Lopez (no regret) - [Edit] an f.u.mix by 808 State
5:13 Lopez (unregrettable) an i.f.u.mix by 808 State

Isn't the full version of the "(no regret) - [Edit] an f.u.mix by 808 State", the "(unregrettable) an i.f.u.mix by 808 State"?

I haven't listened to it for a long time, but it does sound plausible! :)

l8rs,

Nick ;)
