A customised radio station.
Enter the name of an artist you like (808 State, per chance?) and it'll play music in a similair vein. If you like 'em, you can click to buy from iTunes or Amazon.
It's a good way to discover new choonz.

wow!!!
this is quite cool. I typed in 808 State and got Eat Static, LFO, who I've heard of, and loads of others that I'd never heard of before, but'll have to search out! Oh yeah, and it played Chopsumwong off of Outpost Transmission...

It'll let you listen to about ten tracks before you have to register. It also only allows US residents but you just need to make up a US Zip Code - easy.
To quote Ronald McDonald - I'm loving it.

Another great thing about this is that you can share stations you've created. Try this one I've created. It plays Freestylers, Deekline and Wizards, and others. You won't be able to rate the tracks because it is mine!

Post your stations here so we can all listen!

Looks like the lack of co-ordination of licencing authorities worldwide has spoilt the party.
Pandora now has to check IP addresses for the country of origin of their listeners. Only listeners from the UK, US and Canada can listen, all other countries are now blocked.
Still, why do I care? I'm in Manchester - Yippee!

Is last.fm an alternative or are they two different things?

I've just looked at lst.fm and it looks like a good alternative.
