PRESS RELEASE: FREE SILKY SISTERS PARTY FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY
On Monday 8th March it is International Womens Day. All over the world people are going to be coming together to celebrate women, the achievements of women, the role they play in society and also discuss the future roles of women in society.
Dance music organisation Silky Productions are putting on a special FREE party at Mantos Bar on Canal Street in Manchester from 8pm-2am to celebrate this wonderful day, called 'Silky Sisters'. It appears to be the only dance party in the country specifically for international womens day.
To go with the occasion, there is house music all night long from an all female dj line-up, which seems to be quite a rarity in the male orientated dj/dance music industry.
The dj's for the night are Millie, Kler and Mistress de Funk. Warming up the night is Millie, who was a Hacienda dj in the 90's. She was a resident at Shine there on Fridays, and 5th Man on Saturdays.
Kler runs her own nights called Baambity at The Lemon Lounge in Liverpool, and ran the popular Masai parties, also in Liverpool. Manchesters' own Mistress de Funk of 2 girl dj's is a familiar name to all house music fans in the Greater Manchester area.
Silky are looking to add to the success of their first dance party in Manchester, last months' 'Peoples Republic of Dancechester' party.
And to add to the nights' feminine edge, Silky are going to be giving out free pairs of Silky knickers!
