Medulla is Bjork stripped down to her very basics... and that is her voice. There is barely any instrumental music to accompany her voice and the icelandic choir that backs her up.
Even the electronic drums are layered with vocal samples of someone making the sound of drums.
This could have been a very interesting album if the songs were treated as track #6 'Who Is It', the obvious standout of the bunch. Sadly I don't feel the songs are well structured enough to carry most listeners through.
Out of five stars I would give it a 2.
