Pornography - LMG Question.
Howdo folks.
Wonder if any kindly people on here can shed any light on this release?
I'm a moderator over at discogs.com who also owns a copy of the above release, complete with the stickered labels.
It's on discogs here as LMG - Pornography as a white label (the stickered images are mine that I added)
I've always thought the 12" was BY Pornography just as this site states but the submitter (and fellow mod) is sure it's by LMG - read a discussion on a submission here.
What doesn't help matters is that this track apparently appeared on Switzerland - Inflight (The Correct Use Of Dope) as Pornography according to a Discogs member on a pending submission here.
I haven't heard that release so can't comment.
So any information would be greatly appreciated.
(and also satisfy my own curiosity)
Thanks in advance

Re: Pornography - LMG Question.
Hi Sputnik,
It's a tricky one, but my guess is that the artist is called LMG, though the LMGSM on side B is very confusing. The reason I think Pornography is the name of the track is indeed as it's featured on the Switzerland release. It's the same track, only shorter on the Switzerland EP.
Probably LMG stands for something, maybe Graham knows, he tends to know these kind of things. Of course the coolest would be if Martin himself would look into this forum Well let's see what Graham knows...
P.S. Will you clear pending 808 releases on discogs.com quicker for us if we solve the LMG mistery?

We've added the press release of the white-label to the LMG page, though it doesn't really help with the name issue.
Good question on the record label - quite why I put ZTT on this site's discog, I'll never know...sputnik wrote:Thanks for the update.
Let's hope Martin can remember.
Will he also know if it was for ZTT too?
I guess that the record label *could* be "Eastern Bloc" - see PR recently added to the site?
Obviously, until Martin comments (or indeed Andy or Daz), it's difficult to say for sure...

The track was by Pornography.
A side LMG (lick my gash)
B side LMGSM (lick my gash some more) Clever stuff hey.
Track was nothing to do with ZTT,Creed, etc. It was basically a white label funded and released by Pornography, recorded at Fon in Sheffield.
Why it appeared as Pornography on the Switzerland 12"I don't know.

Pornography white label
Mr Maureen is quite right. Pornography was Martin Price, Neil Johnson and Ste Caton (who owned the Geese clothing store in Manchester). There may have been some others involved too, but these three were definitely involved, and it's a long time ago now!markus wrote:Fantastic, many thanks for the insight Mr Maureen! So should we call it a white-label, although it has a label (the one with the logo)? Or should it be Gash records?
The LMG / LMGSM white label was the only thing they did - and it was a white label - it never got a "proper" release as far as I know.
Martin and Neil then went on to work as Switzerland without Ste Caton.
Neil (or his then employer, in whose basement Switzerland set up a studio) still has my Yamaha SY77 synth and Casio RZ1 drum machine...
