On Friday my wife gave me a surprise graduation present. We went into Manchester to witness probably the finest example of live electronic music I have ever seen. Four blokes with upwards of 30 pieces of kit played almost 2 hours of continuous music.
What did I see?
Jean-Michel Jarre playing all 13 parts of Oxygene. Absolute class.
I'd have loved to have seen that. Oxygene was probably the first piece of instrumental music I heard when I was a lad that opened my mind to something new, and directed me into alternative music. I remember buying 'Synthesizer Classics' on cassette and being blown away.
