Confirmation of Massey involvement:
"Lights Out For The Whip
They're experiencing a 'Blackout' next month.
Featured Artists: The Whip
Mancunian electro cum indie cum rock troupe The Whip return with a new single next month. 'Blackout' is the latest track to be lifted from debut album 'X Marks Destination' and is in stores on July 14th.
It's backed with a host of remixes including house supremo Ashley Beedle, hotly-tipped French act Popular Computer and, one of the acid house '88 originals, Graham Massey of 808 State all giving the original their own particular treatment. "

Review from Boomkat:
"'Blackout' is the first single release from The Whip since their debut album X Marks Destination hit shop shelves and finds them sounding somewhere between Hot Chip (surely the most obvious port of comparison) and Erasure, only for 808 State's Graham Massey to get involved and mangle the track into acid burned oblivion, improving things no end. Over on the flipside, Ashley Beedle has a stab at remixing, opting for a more condensed, 4/4 "

It's about time all the indie kids realised the true power of 808! Graham's mix for Simian Mobile Disco was well and truly epic and nailed an already excellent pop song. This completely and effortlessly destroys the original, one of the most powerful remixes of any 'indie-electro' band I've ever heard.
Nice one Graham!
