808 State Album - "Select States" (2 new mixes)
Moderators: Ancodia, Pob, markus, nickking
Hi everybody, Pete from ZTT here and I thought it wothwhile posting a definitive update here.
I've been away and only saw this album had been made available earlier in the week. Contrary to what some of you seem to believe, this is nothing to do with ZTT and is a bootleg, pure and simple. It contains remixes owned by ZTT and EMI (David Bowie), along with two bootlegs by Derek Marin (who Graham confirms has never been commisioned to undertake legitimate remixes).
It was put up by a company called Faucet Music through a digital distributor called Songcast claiming to be directly from ZTT. We have now set about having it removed, if it hasn't been already, and chasing the bootleggers.
If you ever see any releases of this sort please don't hesitate to e-mail info@ztt.com to clarify the situation. We access this e-mail address most days and try to deal with all queries.
I'm aware that ZTT are the subject of some often justifiable criticism with regard to the 808 State catalogue but we are trying to work hand in hand with the band to make material available - hence the forthcoming re-releases. For your infrormation, the albums will be released in the UK and Europe on September 29th (distributed by Pinnacle) and a week later in the US (distributed by Koch) - both of these releases are directly on ZTT.
The albums will be released slightly earlier in Japan by our new licensor Third Ear. The track listings will be the same in each territory - there will be no 'bonus' bonus tracks. The digital releases will be made available worldwide in late September.
We will be selling the albums on the ZTT website from early September. We do try to offer competitive prices but we can't guarantee that somebody (Amazon or Play for instance) won't undercut us. However, many of you will be aware that we offer a price including P & P anywhere in the world. We will also be offering a discount price for buying all four titles together.
We are also working with Graham with a view to releasing the MC Tunes album with a bonus disc and updating the 98:08 compilation.
Thanks for your time and patience. Over and out.
