Just returned from a day out at the Oxjam event in MCR.
I did a short set of laptoping..and also played with Paddy Steer doing the Dragons Breath material.. ~followed by Fairy Engineering Brass Band doing an Acid Brass set..They did Voodoo Ray /Pacific even Cubik *(realy good arrangement ) but also another tune that sounded familiar..could nt quite place it then peered over thier shoulders at the sheet music.."Revenge of the Girlie Men" !!!!! ..of all the tunes they could have picked ..
Return of the ACID BRASS (In Yer Face)

Magnificent story Graham. The "what exactly is this" mystery is comming to us all for music not heard in a while. But quite funny when it happens for music you wrote yourself.
I actually had semilar experience when I heard Pacific (Acid Brass) the first time on the radio. That long second of "what is this?"

Re: Return of the ACID BRASS
Not only that, but the album is also called "In Yer Face!"
Needless to say, I've pre-ordered it - always enjoyed their previous versions anyway. I actually saw Jeremey Deller at the KLF (aka 2K) gig at the Barbican back in 1997 - it was their version of "What Time Is Love?" that inspired them to make another version and perform it "live" on stage - happy days!

Re: Return of the ACID BRASS (In Yer Face)
Reminds me of a High School marching band because they tend to sound brassy and do cover songs. I used to play the baritone horn but didn't stick with it.
