Post by SteveC »

Couldn't find the previous thread for this topic, but now that I'm all geared up with new computer, the process of downloading the sounds page tracks begin, Just grabbed Store St, now making my way to Saxasalt, I should be done by Xmas.

What a great xmas pressie to myself, a whole CDR of 'new' 808 stuff.

Cheers Graham/Markus and the gang

Glad you're geared up Steve.

Would love to hear other people's comments also on the recently uploaded bootlegs & classic 808 Radio shows. I've just uploaded another radio show from 1991 (4 Jun 91). Huge thanks to JPW. I've cut out all the commercials except for one, which samples 808. It's in part 2, at about 16:54. For the life of me I can't think which 808 tune it is. Please ID now. It sounds like it's from ex:el or is it from a b-side? Dear me.

the radio shows are an absolute bonus...something i've been trying to hunt down for years...that period of music has to be the golden age of dance! And the demos as ever are highly appreciated... i think Graham deserves alot of respect for being so down-to-earth about the musical construction of his work...its a great insight into the processes of music making and how others go about doing things. A true inspiration!

Happy Christmas all btw!

I wondered if Graham would provide 'Tunes Splits the Atom' without the vocals as a download or demo version, love the tune to this.

It would be great to have a down load of Modern Things by Graham but instrumental and without the Dinosour sounds - I think it is such a brilliant chilled track.

What would also be nice is Mp3s of the Live Vigo version of In Your Face and Fuzznasty?

Just spent an evening at my mates listening to the 808 Radio shows. I thought I was 17 again.

Thanks Marcus, thanks 808 and thanks properoldskool. History has been preserved.

Just installed Broadband today and have downloaded Santolo, Physics and the Benicassim live gig in under 10mins, what a godsend this broadband is.

I refuse to leave my computer for another week.

Just added Fajita which was available previously only as a free download during the release of Outpost Transmission in the US (2003). Note that the version that will be released on the Japanese Wire 05 compilation is a slightly different edit.
