Olympic'93 - The Word mix, was on Plan9 CD single.nickking wrote:Wasn't that on the CD single, or do you mean the mix that never got released?PeteZarustica wrote:What about Olympic The Word Mix?
What era would the unreleased mix come into? Ex:El or Gorgeous? I suppose it would depend on when they did it, but it would tie-in better with Olympic'93 and, therefore, would probably be Gorgeous era. But I'm just guessing.

Markus is gonna kill me for not checking the discography, but my cd single of plan 9 has a sticker innit - DJ edit ZANG 38 CD DJ 3:41
I don't know if this plan 9 version has an unique edit, and if olympic the word mix only appears in this cd single - which is apparently limited.
On the other side of the inlay there is a nice little "the word" logo - what was that? Was someone remixing under this 'name' or was it a new idea that was later abandonned?

Ah, you've got the DJ promo, which is mentioned in the discog!
Yup, sticker time is right, inlay time (same as standard Plan 9 CD single) is wrong...
"Olympic (Word Mix)" is also on the standard UK CD single.
"The Word" was a UK late-night Channel 4 TV show (featuring Terry Christian, and used to have live bands, as well as people doing unusual things - typical late night show designed to run as soon as people returned from the pubs - at around 11:30pm'ish) which used "Olympic (Word Mix)" as the theme tune, although later editions of the series used a different version of the song (which remains unreleased on CD).

Additionally I'm going to kill you because this was discussed where it belongs, in the Gorgeous discussion, here.PeteZarustica wrote:Markus is gonna kill me for not checking the discography, but my cd single of plan 9 has a sticker innit - DJ edit ZANG 38 CD DJ 3:41

OK, ex:el is next, if anyone has the time (Mark?), could you compile what has been discussed until now for ex:el?
Update: Mark has kindly compiled the ideas. Shall be updating the master posting today/night.
Update: Now compiled here.

I am certain I'm about six months too late to this discussion, but I really must say ...
What about that ENTIRE alternate version of ex:el that was posted in Lazlo Nibble's discography ages ago?
Demo: 199? (Unreleased)
The Streets Of San Francisco / Bernard / Leo Leo / Qmart /
Nephertiti / Guitar / Ooops! / [Empire] / Bounty / Cubik /
Lambrusco / Taco Bell / Olympic State
This, for me, would be a KINGPIN of a bonus CD, rather than just compiling random remixes.
