The weekend before last I listened to my entire 'History Of House Music' box. That's 118 full length tracks on 14 albums... I do this about once a year since I bought it in ca 1991. This time my attention was caught especially by two tracks, both from 1987. Jump St. Man's B-Cause, simply because of it's sheer beauty. And then Eddie "Flashin" Fowlkes' Goodbye Kiss. Check it out. In my oppinion 808 must have been heavily influenced by this when writing Cobra Bora!
this week ive been mostly listening to:
bjork - vespertine
elbow - leaders of the free world
jackson and his computer band - smash
jamie lidell - multiply
editors - the back room
max richter - the blue notebooks
antony and the johnsons - i am a bird now
also i've listened for the first time to the original 'light in darkness' by YMO and man what a great great track.
