A bad Time Bomb Review from 1992

Post by 1990techno »

TIME BOMB/NIMBUS/REAPER REPO
(ZTT) 808 State haven't really emulated the success of "Cubik" or their earlier hits since the departure of key member Graham Massey (funnily enough, neither has he) and these three tracks are unlikely to inspire dancefloor mahem. "Time Bomb" is average techno-by-numbers while the other two sound more like experimental film themes. (2 1/2 stars rating) R.B.

hmmm.. I have to disagree.
More unique than the usual Prodigy sounding rave tune from that time period.

I was thinking you know what would be cool?
If 808 State and Kraftwerk collaborated on an album and it was a mix of Electric Cafe and Gorgeous. (without the vocals)
They both have that studio polished quirkiness to them in the use of clean sampling, effects, and melody.

Sure they meant the departure of Martin Price? Kinda puts the review into perspective.
