808 State Discussion

Has any one seen this. Graham do you know about it?

It's the State 808 Volley Ball Team. They have their own web site at: www.unco.edu/state808vball/roster.htm.

I was looking for 808 state pics on google when this came up so i investigated it. Cool T-shirts but is it breach of copyright?

If not, wish them well and hope they crush the competition as it is a name to be proud of.

The 808 State is an unofficial name for the state of Hawaii (the phone area code of Hawaii is 808). Permission won't be necessary since Hawaii has been around for just a bit longer than our 808 State

there was once an 808state football team with a sponsered kit in Ancoats MCR..we bought the kit but werent in the team.
We also sponsered a dragster (one drunken night in the hacienda) must get photo of that?
The Hawaii thing is odd as no other state is named after an area code?
really its the 50th state
There were quite a few 808state bumper stickers in hawaii when i went last year. i think they must have started using it after us.. We certainly did nt get it from them..may be its just coincidence..

I emailed the contact person for the volleyball team, and I got a response concerning ordering a t-shirt. A new design will be made shortly.

Not so long ago there was a Nike t-shirt on Ebay that simply read 808 state on the front and had the Nike swoosh underneath, is this the same vollyball shirt? I bid £40 on it and got outbid overnight as I was zonking.
