"Worra kerfuffle, eh...?" ("Little Britian"-mode:OFF)
I'm not really sure, if this posting belongs here, or in "Nice mixes to download (with 808state tracks involved)";
but I'm assuming that the powers to be here will help me sort this one out.
But in any event - after a bit over a year, six sets and a total of over 125000 downloads later,
the seventh installment of the "Compiling a Network"-series is now here!
And 808state.com gets the exclusive first-drop on it...!
But here's what's on it - tracklist, please:
Graham Massey: Store St. / (Unreleased)
Gareth Duprey: Untitled Audio#02 (Dimitri Pike Remix) / Wildub
Mick Welch: My Excursion / (Unreleased)
Rob Glennon: Suil Eile / (Unreleased)
Marko Fόrstenberg: Porn Infection (Remix) / Thinner
Marko Fόrstenberg: Reactor 3 / Thinner
Bitley: Yellow Orange / (Unreleased)
Kube 72: Light & Shade (Kube 72 Acid Remix) / (Unreleased)
Mezerik: Untitled / (Unreleased)
Entec: Untitled / (Unreleased)
Detroit People Mover: Enerval For Etracene / 6ONE6
Roger van Lunteren: Octoplex (Beta Pulse Version) / (Unreleased)
Mush: TEST 120 / NightVision
Julian Eustace: Storm Breaker / (Unreleased)
Julian Eustace: Lift / (Unreleased)
Rob Glennon: Ambush (live electrics) / (Unreleased)
Dirty Boy: b b b (mix03) / (Unreleased)
Gareth Duprey: Deep In The Tomb (Dimitri Pike Remix) / Wildub
The usual mp3- and FLAC-versions of this set are already now online; so if you've already subscribed to this series,
"Now!" might be a good time to update your podcast- and/or RSS-feed.
A more straight-forward, normal html-version of the XML-feed with all of the info and DL-links can be found at this link.
Furthermore, if you should prefer this paradigm, a new and re-jigged PDF-file with all of the track-info,
artist and DL-links can get downloaded from this link.
FYI, torrents of the mp3- and FLAC-file, respectively, are on their way...
All of the same legal-stuff, as with the previous mixes, still applies...
Enjoy - BTW, feedback always very much appreciated - T.I.A.!
d.
P.S. This set is dedicated to Lone Skov - everyday, forever and beyond... |

Wicked, wicked, wicked!!! Yes, the no-808 tracks involved is a bit misleading, hahaha. Will make some cross-linking tomorrow.
Nice one Don, as ever! |

It was really nice, and I'm very honoured to be part of it, even though my track sounded a bit strangeish great house feel to the mix as an entity though. I'll try to make new tracks, better and fatter tracks... so they won't end up sounding so strange |

Don't really know, what you mean 'bout the "...sounded a bit strangeish"-part, Bitley!
But if I know you right, you'll probably going to tell me...
Yes, "Yellow Orange" is a fantastic track (as for your other output),
which probably is probably, why you're already slated for v8.0, too...!
So I don't really know, if you can make "better tracks", as your composing-skills are PHAT already!
And with a track such as yours, Roger van Lunteren's, Mr. Massey's and all of the others included in v7.0,
is probably one of the reasons CaN v7.0 has already been DL'ed +6900 times (and still counting),
as I'm writing this!
Not to mention the interest shown here on this forum and support by it's members'!
(You know, who you all are - Thanks a lot...!).

P.S. I'm still working on the "last.fm id3-tag"-mystery... |

Cool guys, super thanks for the support. It's pretty cool hearing positive things about the music out here in the woods... sitting by myself... ; )
http://trig.com/bitley/media/song/21325
I compared a little (very very little) and it seems the version in the mix has some more compression on it, making it sound a bit... hollow? |

CaN mixes weren't showing up in last.fm playlists. You need to rename the ID tag, then it works for me. Unless Dee has encountered some new problems. I'm sure he'll give us the full low-down |

This id3-tag bit is almost derailing this thread's content (New topic, moderators?) - but to keep it short and non-geeky
(just to keep this thread concentrated and focused on cool mixes):
Markus actually held the key to solution on the last.fm "id3-tag"-mystery!
Apparently tagging the file(s) with "Various Artists" is what made last.fm's scrobbling kack!
However, id3-labeling the "Artist" as (in this case) "V/A - datamixed by dee3" (as Markus did/does) works just fine!
Mystery solved - "Scooby 'n' Shaggy"-mode: OFF..
Unfortunately, as v7.0 (plus it's predecessors) are currently getting DL'ed between 100-500 times per day,
I'm not all that keen on re-upping the files at the moment (with the the downtime that'd entail).
But this will be corrected at some point, though...
However, if there are any of you that've already downloaded v7.0 (or any of the other sets),
and what it to appear scrobbled on last.fm after you've played it, then re-dub the artist id3-tag to:
"V/A - datamixed by dee3"
...and as stated, please - and please do NOT screw around with any other tags;
some of the artists and labels involved might get all jittery, if they see a "different" set online.
BTW, Markus - regarding v4.0: the "[RE-COMPILED]"-labelling gets scrobbled, so...
To Bitley: gmail on it's way to you, but "Yes" - sorta guilty as charged; I think the more correct expression is "flat" than "hollow".
But I know what you mean...
Now, in a feeble attempt to get this thread back on track:
http://www.somarecords.com/podcasts/
That's right - Stuart 'n' Orde are at it again...!
Tracklists can be found here: December and January
Pretty good sets, actually...
UPDATE 3/15-'08:
CaN: podcast-/RSS-feed updated...!
First of all, on behalf of the contributing artists and labels involved in CaN v7.0 (not to also mention myself),
Id like to say thanks a lot for the (continuing) interest theres been in CaN v7.0!
In spite of apparently some technical issues at archive.org (again!), the set has to date already been DLed +11000 times!
Anyway, theres been some minor changes regarding the XML-file, which "powers" the podcast- and RSS 2.0-feed:
1. All mp3-versions of the (currently) seven sets online are now 192kbps VBR (still using LAME, mind),
instead of the previously used 192kbps CBR compression.
Please note that the 192kbps VBR versions of the sets will from now on be the standard mp3-format for the CaN-series.
The reason for this change is to minimize the server-load, accelerate the DL-time(s) for the users and ensure an audio-quality,
which is at least up to par with the previous CBR-versions of the sets used so far.
However, the torrent-delivered versions of the sets will still remain to be in 192kbps CBR, though.
This being due to practical reasons.
Just to keep you all in the loop - thanks for reading this...!
d.

Although I'm still sorta bummed out 'bout, I couldn't be at the Warehouse,
here's a new set from the legendary Kevin M. Saunderson (no further introduction should be necessary):
http://www.residentadvisor.net/podcast-episode.aspx?id=95
Sorry - no tracklisting available; and remember - like all of Resident Advisor's online sets - get it NOW!
It might not be there next month!

I've uploaded quite a lot of nice mixes recently onto my site, you can grab em in the bonus mixes section.
LINK HERE
Also markus if you have any tips on stopping spammers from signing up on my board your help will be really appreciated. Dee 3 mentioned you had something in place. I have tried a couple of mods and f***ed up my board in the process, probably due to my shit programming skills or maybe due to glitches in the mods i used.
I've got FTP in place as well on my site with unlimited bandwidth and storage so if anyone would like access to that, sign up and PM me and i'll send you the login details. You can use the storage for whatever you like, hotlinking to myspace or other forums.
I'll be uploading more mixes soon from my archive on my hard drive. It's a slow process but in the next month or so there should be a lot of nice mixes there. |
