808 State Discussion

I wouldn't mind seeing that old logo either. The first time I ever saw it was on the front of the Quadrastate album in 23rd Precinct, and it's what drew my attention to the record!

I had an absolute belter of an 808 T-Shirt back in the day.

It was "Manchester City"-blue and had "808808808" on the ...

At 30 minutes this sounds like maybe a mix someone has done during a set or something. I certainly don't know of any "original" 808 mix lasting as long as this.

I'm assuming I've heard all of the mixes (listed below) if anyone knows of any others they could maybe post something?

There was a copy of Quadrastate on ebay recently, it pops up there from time to time (went for around a tenner I think).

Also, ACTION RECORDS (URL is on this web site's LINKS page) have copies now and again.

Why not get someone to tape it for you? There must be someone here with Quadrastate and a record player and tape deck!

(I have decks but no tape deck!).

Yeah I know! Here's what I did...

1. Gingerly opened the plastic bit from the front using a stanley knife.
2. Removed the tape and taped it onto a blank.
3. Put the original tape back in the pack and use a tiny bit of glue to stick it back together!

Sound!!!

The original now has pride of place ...

Don't know if they're playing live but their new single (Freak) and album (Sheath) are both brilliant.

Sheath isn't out until September but you can buy a limited edition promo-only cassette of it from www.warprecords.com (or at least you could last week)!
