With little more than six weeks to go, I feel it's necessary to give an update on this. Especially people from abroad would be wanting to make travel arrangements. Well, this is what I've understood so far:
Several Manchester options were looked into, but nothing came out of it in the end. I guess a venue needs to be a certain size to house 808 live, but if it's too big, it could be tricky to guarantee a certain minimum crowd (remember, it's during the Summer holiday, no students in Manchester).
From what I've heard a venue in London is now being looked for, but proving to be difficult on that specific date...
So it's not looking too great, but there is still hope...
Graham, if you have any updates, let us know. Thanks.

i always thought a meet up for 808 global fans on the 8th august of every year should be fun, esp in manchester - visit the historic places etc, have a nice meal or 2, then finish off with plenty of bevvys and hopefully listening to some good old 808/manc tunes!
808 playing live would be best, then if not the spinmasters & graham dj'ing? even if its in a pub!
i booked off the weekend months ago, and have already said no to a woman who wanted me to dj her wedding on the 8th aug 09 - lol
