Hi All
I have two US Tommy Boy pressings which perhaps you could shed some light on. My copy Of UTD STATE 90 has a lenticular barcode stickered to the rear sleeve (onto the rear inlay). Did any copies come without a barcode?
My copy of Bombadin CD5 was purchased in HMV, Manchester in 1995 and has an MCPS sticker on the jewel case front. Is this a common practise for parallel imports? I haven't seen a sticker like this on the Euro imports I picked up at the same time.
Thanks

Well, I've checked my Utd State 90 CD (bought when it originally came out), and it doesn't have a barcode on it, however my recent US Longbox acquisition has one on the back of the box.
My Bombadin US CD single doesn't have any stickers on it, so maybe that was just on those imported into this country?

Nope, by that time they realised that it wasn't very environmentally friendly to produce all that extra cardboard. Having said that, Don Solaris was issued in a cardboard sleeve in the US promo I thinknickking wrote:I've got longboxes for Utd State 90, Ex:el and Gorgeous thus far (don't know if there was one for Don Solaris)?

That pic means that Moses was indeed scheduled as a US single. Why was it never released commercially? Tommy Boy sure put a great amount of effort into issuing US only mixes for an act which was essentially on an African American oriented Rap / R&B label. Look at their roster of acts: Club Nouveau, Coolio, House of Pain, Afrika Bambaataa
Why so much effort?
