Live album

Post by Mark »

I remember Graham saying a while ago that 808 had never recorded a live album and it was something they wanted to do.

Will this ever happen? There have been numerous live performances over the last few years and surely one of them could have been recorded?

Graham - are there any plans for this to come off?

That would be a good idea.

We could start a thread to create our ultimate setlist.

How much would it be to book 808 for my 40th birthday party (4 years time, btw)? You could record it then.

I think there's been numerous threads on this.

We've even offered to all chip in and pay for it as a website only release.

I fear it will never happen. I have several live recordings but the quality is not great. If you can get them for your 40th I'll be there! (presuming I'm invited

There IS actually an UNOFFICIAL live album, "Live at the Town & Country Club 1993" aka BBC Live In Concert. Gorgeous Era Tracks and setlist as follows:
1. La Luz
2. Plan 9
3. One In Ten
4. Europa
5. Lemon
6. Pacific
7. Contrique
8. 10x10
9. Gimme Shelter
10. Cubik
11. Moses
12. In Yer Face

Broadcast by UK BBC Radio 1 in two 30 min episodes. Voiceover and announcements Richard Skinner. Broadcast by ZA SABC Radio 5 in two 30 min episodes. Voiceover and announcements Barney Saaiman. May possibly exist on CD / Vinyl Transcription Service Disc(s). Version(s) without voiceover announcements and added studio non-era tracks do circulate on CD.

Thanks

Yeah Nick, I know. You sent me a copy in my previous life circa 2007.

I didn't realise until this moment that the DJ voice-overs are done in-studio during the broadcast and aren't featured on the actual transcription disc.

BTW do you have the custom (die-cut) sleeve and inserts as well.

Cheers

Just been to see the Prodigy 'Worlds on fire' at the local cinema. It was bascially a mix of the tunes played at their Milton keynes gig.

It was really good, sound quality excellent and I really enjoyed it. They even beefed up a few of the earlier greats. Also to be released on DVD / Blu-ray with a bonus audio CD.

Now it's time for 808 to do it!!!!
