Quadrastate print by Mick Peek

Post by markus »

Quadrastate print by Mick Peek, the original designer of the album sleeve.
See his website.

"Poster created from a photograph of the cover of the 808 State 'Quadrastate' mini album that I designed in 1989.
The album cover features “larger than life” at 17.5” sq and is printed in four colours on high quality heavyweight 250gsm uncoated offset 600 x 600mm paper in a limited-edition of 50.

Each one has been numbered and signed in pencil by Mick and for authentication the print also features an embossed 'Mick Peek Design’ logo.

It will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube via tracked mail from the UK.

Here’s the story of the design;

“Back in the day I did quite a bit of design work for bands and this is the cover of the 808 State 'Quadrastate' mini album that I did in 1989. Graham Massey from the band had a pretty good idea of what he wanted and bought a big art book of photos of the earth taken from space and they formed the basis for the front and back images. As was the order of the day (due to costs) the cover was 'limited' in number of printing colours and this was just 3... navy, red and yellow”
