AFX - 26 Remixes for Cash

Just to let you all know that the Aphex remix of 'Flow Coma' is included on his new remix album '26 Remixes For Cash' under the name 'Remix by AFX'.

The track is credited to Simpson/Massey/Price/Richard James.

Oh, and if it's ordered via Warpmart, you get a couple of AFX coins!

Well, you could always return it and order via Warp instead!

Seriously, I only found out on Friday, so promptly placed the order - wasn't sure what I would expect, but they are actual coins with the Rephlex logo on one side, and Richard James' head on the other!

Well I gave the link in the newssection on 2 March. It says on the Warp site that it is for *pre-orders*. Also says 'Minted from 100% Belgian chocolate' so I'm a bit surprised that you say they are real, Nick?

Flow coma is one of my fave 808 tracks. So how is the AFX RMX of flow coma? Does the AFX RMX resemble the orig. in any way? Details pleeze, I don't want to buy the CD only to find out it is some AFX wankering...

I have to say full respect for this remix. It's not often a remix can match the original of a seminal track, but he has done it justice. It sticks to the original but gives it a breakbeat treatment.
If you don't want to shell out for the double album, just get the single, it's still widely available.

I didn't think the Flow Coma single was ever released? I checked at www.gemm.com and nothing came up. A search of this site brings me this:

ok the deal is that Rephlex CAT112=Men 1 (Men Records, a spinoff off of Rephlex). its a 3 track single w/ 2 AFX remixes on it, one being the Flow Coma remix, and a bonus track of sounds. there is no Massey, Simpson or Price remix on it.

I guess I'll get the AFX 2 CD set.

It's the same track on both, the single doesn't actually include any details like a white label, it just gives a title '2 mixes by AFX' and nothing more. Where as the album credits the track to Massey, Price & Simpson.
I would also advise you to pick up the single, unless you are a fan of Aphex. I don't like the album, I find it a little harsh, the only track with some soul to it is 'Flow Coma'.
