I just bought gorgeous, again

Post by HelloKitty »

My previous gorgeous cd died from over use, and from always being in the "everyday" pile of cds for 10 years.

 I know what you mean- my disc is hashed.. lotta mileage outta that CD. Most definitely a classic in my book. I was fortunate to see them in 1993 on that tour when they hit the states with Meat Beat Manifesto (Austin, TX)- what a double treat that was! Meat Beat Manifesto really put on a show that night! They opened and Upstaged 808- but both acts were some of my most memorable- up there with Underworld and Junkie XL.

I originally bought Gorgeous on tape so I could play it in the car. I later went and bought the CD version for the extra bonus tracks - sexy synth et al. - DOH!!

's Funny but I digged Gorgeous out aswell and played it for the first time in a while.

Not rated as one of 808's best by some but wow-it did hit me.
Nimbus is perfect, beautiful ambient pieces in Southern cross and Black Morpehus, Plan 9 is one of my all time faves,Timebomb ...a very underated album.Maybe because too many singles were released so the album had little other surprises ?

Yeah...

That gorgeous is one of my favs. I could also need a new copy for I've played my out since it was released.

Best tracks on that one for me are moses, plan 9, europa, orbit and colony. That colony is a great fekkin' 'ardcore breakbeat trak!! It fekkin' poundz me head! I luvit!

Of course there was timebomb - that onez not too bad either. A classic.

Just rented out a cottage overlooking Anglesey for the week which had a stereo. Played a lot of Gorgeous in the living room as it really fitted in with the surroundings overlooking the bay, chilled out bliss for a chilled out place, even my parents tapped there feet.
