Thanks Snow Leopardess. Love the way the middle names are used in the credits:

8. A Guy Called Gerald “Voodoo Ray”
Written by Gerald Rydell Simpson
Couresty of A Guy Called Gerald
Are both Andy & Daz really called Edward? Edward not Edward!
Still, I'd like conifrmation from someone who's really got the game
obviuosly computer bollocks on the writing credits.

Confirmation!! I went to my local Blockbuster and asked the cashier to show me the game manual. 808 State and A Guy Called Gerald are both listed in the game manual just as it is on gamespot.com.
Ohh my!!! This game is going to feature primarily classic techno??!! Thats completely amazing. Shame the theme of the game is rubbish, and shame that I don't have that 500.00 video card to play the latest games on my PC. Heck, I don't have a new game machine/box either so thats out. Does it come out on Dreamcast? *LOL*
Great sound track though.... almost as cool as Tempest X / Tempest 2000, my favorite game sound track of all. I especially like that SL2 "djs take control" knock off tune in there.
"6. Maurice “This Is Acid”
Written by Lamar H. Malone and Willie L. Townsell
Courtesy of Casablanca Trax"
Casablanca Trax??? Never heard of that one, I know of Trax Records though. It also doesn't mention what version of "This is acid" is being used. I personally prefur the "S&T Mix" which is the rough pre-'ardcore version.
Excellant, I eventually got to sit down and play this for a while last night. Driving round mowing people down with an automatic, just as Break for Love ends one really stupid advert and then the oh so familiar strings and sax appeared.
Yes the PC Version is not due until Summer 2005 and you should be able to use the MP3 Player anyway (as with previous releases).
I read the booklet yesterday and was hoping for Pacific to be in there. I think its a House station that has it listed along with Voodoo Ray. I'm happy its not all rock and rap
Still waiting for my copy to arrive tho
Perhaps it should have been in Vice City seeing as it was a late eighties track?
Hmmm, looking at this http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... 56-7027604
no mention of 808 State or A Guy Called Gerald on the 8 CD box...
I wonder if it's a mistake by Amazon or if there are different tracklistings for UK and US?
Have you any idea on how much this soundtrack will be an eye opener for a lot of people? It is like cheating them to listen to music they would never find. It's really great. Forget Britney. Here you find Lynn Collins - Think About, which is amazing to me. Amongst a lot of other things like our favs 808 and Gerald.

Yeah. I notised. Vice City, also, featured more music than what was on the boxset.
I would like a confirmation that 808/Gerald really is in the game. Also, what radio station? And how is it presented? Notise that the virtual radiostations in these games have it all incl. commercials, jingles and speech.
Yes, 808 and A Guy Named Gerald both made it in to the final game. I saw the game's instruction book and they are both listed. (I didn't rent or buy the game because I have little uns at home and it is definately NOT for kids . According to www.rockstargames.com (the developer of GTA) the PC version will be out June 7 in the US and June 10 in Europe. I don't know why but neither 808 nor A Guy Named Gerald made it onto the 8 CD sountrack set.
As for other games to feature 808...I don't know of any.
