Yes just done a mix fro the New "Simian Mobile Disco "single called "Its the Beat" on Witchita records..
Its 15 minuits long and is realy 4 mixes combined in a suite .
James Ford (he of 808 drumming and Toolshed) from SMD.
said he dropped it at Fabric the other night and it works on the dancefloor
(most unusual for me).
not shure when its out but soon.

Nice one - haven't seen the mix on any of the promos yet - the 2-track 12" promo (from Juno) has two mixes, and the 3-track CD promo has 3 mixes - neither of which has the Massey mix on them....

As soon as I find one, I'll let you all know (or any info on what the released versions will contain).

No, it hasn't been mentioned before - a very revealing article...

Don't like the sound of the reissues occuring next year, though....

Nice little interview, it was only published on 1st March by the looks of it. The only thing that's a bit worrying (sorry, going off-topic to 808 album re-releases) : "We're remastering tracks and rereleasing each album with rarities, b-sides, and other mixes next year."
I hope Graham meant 2007 by this and not 2008...

Does that mean 4 mixes of "It's The Beat" or a megamix of It's The Beat and 3 other tracks?

theres a 5 min main edit also , so thats the main mix ,with a intro piece
and then an acid mix then a fuk hop mix and then an industrial mix
with an outro piece.

Apparently, the CD single will have 5 different mixes of "It's The Beat" (according to Amazon UK), but details of what mixes are included currently remains a mystery.

If I find out any more, I'll update it here!

According to hmv.co.uk, the Masseymix will be available on CD single as well as 12" format.

Nice one - there's also download formats to be determined (according to the advert in the latest DJ Mag) - they do mention in the add remixes by "Graham Massey (808 State/Massonix)"

Oh, and Mixmag are stating that Massonix's "Subtracks" is being released this month...

Okay, managed to blag a promo (off Ebay) with both the edit and full-length Massey mixes of "It's The Beat" (don't worry, btw, I'll buy the released ones when they come out - just a mad collector)!!

Hopefully, it'll arrive by the time I get back from Manchester on the Thursday morning (going to see Monaco aka Peter Hook & David Potts on the Wednesday evening at the Hard Rock Cafe) - looking forward to it!
