NewOrder remixes of Jetstream

Post by PeteZarustica »

Now, for those into NewOrder the Jetstream remixes are frustrating, since they sound all the same - as the US mixes of Krafty. There's is a chance where NewOrder (or pete tong or whoever) should be asking 808 to remix their new single.

Anyway, for those who care, there goes my remixes of Jetstream, made in the last 24 hours.

the full 12'' version

With all due respect I've moved this to the music topic. I'm a big New Order fan but am hoping you've removed the background vocals as they kill me. Unfortunately the links seem to be dead though.

Fantastic mixes Pete, absolutely top! Believe me I really mean it, as I hate the album version. Great job, for the next single they really should consider you for an official remix!

Don't agree with you on the b/v's Markus, Ana Matronic is a goddess. Can't wait for her solo album! The original set of mixes are useless, really 'disappointed' in Stuart Price and Tom Neville. Good job Pete, keep it up.

yeah, well thanks everybody :)

Ana Matronic IS really good. But the arrangement for this particular track wasn't very good for her. The backing vocals arrangements are - as usual (for new order) shite. They should stop trying backing vocals - it always sounds like Electronic (whose backing vocals by also talented Denise Johnson - that worked with Biting Tongues and 808 State - were always infantile).

Also I don't think my mixes are that good, especially the dub mix. As soon as I got the channels I fet an irresistable force to remix it. I went to the studio and 20 hours later (no food no loo no nothing but tea and milk) I had the mixes. The next day mastering. Now I want to try to shape it up a bit.

Thanks for all the comments, it's really good to hear ANY king of criticism - good or bad - coming from people that knows what you're doing.

all the best
