Doc Fritz does it again!
He's remixed Bond, he's remixed the New Order vs 808 mixes, he's remixed Let Yourself Go, he's remixed New Order's Jetstream Lover. And now he's given Cubik his treatment, in what he call's 'Cubik - The 100th remix'. This man diserves international superstar status! Check the sounds page now. Thanks PeteZ!

About Cübik - the 100th remix
I never wanted to remix Pacific or Cübik. Especiallly because some people tend to compress 808 State into these two tracks only - which is unfair. Of course these were the biggest hits and the most popular tracks, but if you're into music, and if you look real close to the whole 808 State trackography (can i say that?) you'll realize they have much more to offer us than these two tunes. And if you're into production and remix, to re-work on those two singles would be at least obvious.
So when I decided to work on Cubik I decided to be obvious. The remix is (in my mind at least) very very similar to the original song structure idea and arrangements. I gave an extra punch in the drums, since my main point in remixing it is playing it @ night. And I HAD to play with the main tune, since "too obvious" is not fun at all.
I had it with me for months and I didn't want to publish it because I was really embarassed about it. Courage came when you were so friendly about the Jetstream remixes. I do hope the 808 State fans and followers like it, and maybe spin it in some barchelor party, drinking martini of course.

Not bad Pete Z. A different take on a classic, but yes, still incorporates all the best bits of the original. Good work mate.
However, please no more Cubik remixes!!! They're coming out of my ears. I would like to see an In Yer Face remix which makes it a little more updated???
How about taking that on Pete Z?
