With little more than six weeks to go, I feel it's necessary to give an update on this. Especially people from abroad would be wanting to make travel arrangements. Well, this is what I've understood so far:
Several Manchester options were looked into, but nothing came out of it in the end. I guess a venue needs to be a certain size to house 808 live, but if it's too big, it could be tricky to guarantee a certain minimum crowd (remember, it's during the Summer holiday, no students in Manchester).
From what I've heard a venue in London is now being looked for, but proving to be difficult on that specific date...
So it's not looking too great, but there is still hope...
Graham, if you have any updates, let us know. Thanks.

I'm sure Bloom would love to have them back on the 8th Aug.

Have to admit, if nothing's arranged in the seven days (i.e. a month before), I don't think I'll be making it. :(

You and me are in the same boat, mate. Everyone is booking holidays, left, right and centre at work just now.

Looks like I might have to have my own 808:20 party. :P

I've cancelled a working weekend for this. I thought if nothing else there would be a mass 808 get together, or maybe booking the 808 DJs ourselves, come on guys there's still hope.

There would need to be quite a few of us paying £100 each for that to happen... :P

Yes, but it's only fair the moderators stump up £500 each on top :D .

i always thought a meet up for 808 global fans on the 8th august of every year should be fun, esp in manchester - visit the historic places etc, have a nice meal or 2, then finish off with plenty of bevvys and hopefully listening to some good old 808/manc tunes!

808 playing live would be best, then if not the spinmasters & graham dj'ing? even if its in a pub!

i booked off the weekend months ago, and have already said no to a woman who wanted me to dj her wedding on the 8th aug 09 - lol
