808 State Radio show info

Does anyone know when the very 1st 808 State show was broadcast on Sunset? I'm presuming it was some time in 1990, as the shows I have (so far) for 90 are between April and July. Also, anyone know when the very last show went out? May have been as late as 1997? Sunset Radio>Kiss 102>Galaxy 102.. Any...

Hazy Dayz Easter's Sweet! 26-03-05

Hello there! Been a lot going on in past 3 months, phew My site got pulled, and ran into a load of hassle, so binned it off, also scrapped the forum software phpbb as to be honest, it's poo! I attempted to migrate the users/posts to new forum software and only the admin/posts were done succesfully, ...

I haven't bought it, I d/l it for a listen first, and glad I did. What do people make of it then? To be honest, I thought it was the most boring remix I've ever heard. [Blue Monday] The Juno 106 acidic bass sound is good, but the whole rest of the track is so weak, and just left me feeling empty aft...

Depends what you are playing it on? If it's a stand alone DVD Player, they (most of them that is) have audio out, so you could always record in on your pc via the outputs of the DVD Player. Or, if it's a DVD-Rom, you could just play it and record it with Sound Forge, providing your sound card has a ...

Thanks for clearing up the sound system comments and the gifts - I was with 3 others in the queue and we were among the first 50 in, didn't see any CD's or owt, not fussed now like, but remember being asked later that night "ere, did you get a cd or owt mate? cos I didn't" - which prompted...

The old-school room was done by Vision Classix - set times, MC's, sound-system , smileys - I still haven't worked out why they have some of the smileys the wrong way... very strange... So the sound system isn't Dry's then ? And also, to be honest, I haven't heard of anyone else who didn't enjoy the...

Well, what a night that was! Andy & Darren were amazing, thank you both for playing there, I could tell you were enjoying it, as you were both buzzing off the crowd, what a great venue, great vibe and mint people. The tunes were spot on, it was great that you didn't play all the well known anthe...

DTroit The art, music & culture of the motor city

There's an exhibition on at Urbis 20th May - 18th July 2004. Which includes The Sounds Of Two Cities, a video project by Elliot Eastwick. The cities of Manchester and Detroit have many musical similarities, from the Northern Soul movement of 70s which adopted the Soul sounds of Urban Detroit, to the...

Liverpool - 31 JUL 2004

Having been to two of these nights already, I can say they are superb, and have the atmosphere spot on from 1990/1991. It was announced at the end of the last night that 808 State are playing an old skool DJ set there next month, and sure enough, I got the flyers thrust upon me when I left.... See y...

It's a great DVD.

Are you playing it on a PC DVD-Rom?

You might need a region hack, as it's a R2 Pal DVD, I use a tool called 'anydvd' install that and try it, or try it on a stand-alone DVD player.

It's quite rare that it's a disc problem thesedays - usually a software or player problem.

Thanks! I have some bad news... The host (gisol) aren't happy about me hosting certain files, and I've had complaints about copyright twice this month, so at any time the whole lot could be pulled :( I've just backed everything up in case this happens. I have some potential good news though.. I'm ho...
