Yup, as John states, the above tracks need to be on any kind of reissue!Ancodia wrote:It's more important to have the previously released vinyl only tracks and early promo mixes included.

I think Ian is making an example of what NOT to do.
There should be a Disco Disc 2 - and please... excluding tracks to make them collectable is real silly... sorry. I know it wasn't a suggestion, more like an assumption, but hey, this is spiting up. Collectable items will remain collectable - the original NewBuild 12" didn't lose any value after the re-release, on the contrary. Besides, this is a chance of us fans having everything remastered and in digital format, so we can show our grandson's sometime near...

Most definitely should not consider collectibility when compiling the discs - release all the rare tracks on the reissues (especially vinyl-only tracks).
From a personal point of view, I collect records/CD's/etc for tracks, and if they appear later on (as will be in the case of some Gerald stuff that's coming out later on this year), then that's fantastic - i.e. more people will get to listen to the tracks/mixes = more fans = more records by 808

The reason everybody wants the new version is because it has a suberb quality. 3 discs, a track for each side. 210g vinyl (if I'm not wrong). The less you record in a vinyl the better the sound is, and the longer it will last - and the "higher" it'll sound. Also, Newbuild LP price went from about 50 pounds to 10 pounds after being re-released on Rephlex.
And we're probably checking different sources Markus, because last time I was in London the original NewBuild was being sold by 65£. OK it's London and on the week before I was in MCR and I didn't find it, but still, I don't think I can find a original copy for 10£.

Vinyl Exchange - 25 quid herePeteZarustica wrote:The reason everybody wants the new version is because it has a suberb quality. 3 discs, a track for each side. 210g vinyl (if I'm not wrong). 28 quid from Netsounds here and here
GEMM lists a variety of different ones for a similar price here
And similar prices from MusicStack here
Out of that little lot, only one Rephlex 3xLP vinyl here for about 28 quid....
So, roughly 25 quid for the original Newbuild - I would say that the Rephlex one is rarer, though... So, pick up that last one if you don't have it, whilst you can!
