Us Brits aren't very good at planning events, mill dome and wembley etc, if anythings being considered for this landmark occasion we need to be planning it NOW.

Or is it in fact just a meaningless set of numbers which aren't worth celebrating at all, just gawping at like we do when its 8.08pm for instance.

A landmark date requires a landmark occasion to perform at, just so happens that day is the opening ceremony of the Beijing OLYMPICS, see the connection.

Can't we contact the organisers and get 808 on 08:08:08 to perform Olympic at the Olympics.

What, you mean they haven't booked Tiesto yet? I think I'd prefer a humble trip to Manchester and see them live as apposed to watching Olympics on TV. But great connection indeed!
