Checked out the Bowie track, and yes indeed... Fantastic, you're the man Chris! Thanks.Chris the Boy wrote:i don't know many of the 808 b-sides, but i doubt there's any to rival "ski family". when "ooops" came out as a single, i remember picking it up and reading the tracklisting (i'm a complete nerd for tracklistings, and i suspect i'm not alone in this), and thinking what a great, intriguing title "ski family" was. i didn't buy the single (a financial thing, no doubt), but finally got it about a week ago. maybe i'm pointing out the obvious, but for anyone who doesn't know, "ski family" features the "bro, bro, bro" sample from david bowie's "chant of the ever-circling skeletal FAMILY", from his 1974 album "diamond dogs". if you don't have it, go get it! (the "bro" refers, incidentally, to the segue from the previous track on the album, "big BROther". i love the fact that the title reflects the origin of the sample. where the "ski" part, comes from, i don't know. but maybe you do ...

ever-circling
oh, and if you're interested, the wedding present once covered that bowie track, on the b-side of their "loveslave" 7" single from 1992 (the year that they released one single per month, which is what i'd like from 808

Welcome to the board - glad to see new faces here!
To answer some of your questions, here goes!:
La Luz is on the b-side to 10x10:
http://www.808state.com/discogs/808page ... n10x10.htm
although it's worth trying to track down the Japanese CD single of Bombadin, because that's the only place to find the superb Acid Mix of La Luz on CD:
http://www.808state.com/discogs/808page ... nbomba.htm
Nbambi is on the b-side to Plan 9:
http://www.808state.com/discogs/808page ... nplan9.htm
and Ski Family is on the b-side to Oops:
http://www.808state.com/discogs/808page ... nooops.htm
Hope this helps, and yeah, I suppose (strictly speaking) Spanish Marching doesn't strictly qualify as a b-side, and that Let Yourself Go is really an a-side (with Deepville being the b-side)... but who cares!
l8rs,
Nick
