Just to let people know about a granada tv documentary showing on friday 19th november, called truely madly deeply vale, its about a free festival that used to happen in the late 70s near manchester (Bury /Rochdale).Ive done a short interview,as well as people like Mark E Smith,Steve Hillage and Alan Hempsall, visit http://www.deeplyvale.com Old hippys and punks only
I sundenly realised I was old when the dirrector of the programme was born in the same year as the festival we were talking about...Early roots of raveing etc

Yes I need to for several other people,Granada s last ever music documentary aparently,Granada TVs music archive is legendary.
Includes important recordings of the obvious local stuff (joy division/Stone Roses,The Celebration programe on Madchester, etc) but also famous films such as the Doors at the roundhouse,Stones In the Park(where legend has it MC Tunes was concieved) ,Johnny Cash at San Quentin,Bob Dylan film,Most of the Early Sex Pistols footage you see
and tons more..Corporate Bland ness will swamp us all with dumb arsed top 10 of rock shit (well lets hope not) But Granada good on em!
Some where they have The Other Side of Midnight (Tony Wilsons Late 80s show with Theme tune by Yargo (Paddy and Phil Kirbys 80s band,an Arthur Baker Remix used to be dropped sat the Thunderdome by D and A)
On which me and martin 1 st performed Pacific ,The Rave in Victoria swimming Baths with Gerald and Me,Born in The North (Ed Barton Gerald and Me)Also an Unreleased Pilot show with Martin Daz Andy And me doing Pacific
in 90,,Also the Happy Mondays G mex Party ,and other stuff like the Madchester doc ,The John Savage Celebration programme ,Mondays live at Granada Party.Us doing Leo Leo on Bob Greaves Bed
Ive no Idea how theyve spun the Deeply vale Doc into an hour long show
But The DIY nature of the Festival was a big deal to us at that time.
Though it was nt my 1st rock Festival ,Reading 75(I think) was mine
With Hawkwind,Yes and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Talking of Festivals was any of you lot there at Glastonbury when we played
Was it 91 or 92 ,There s almost no record of it (Photoes video) Now it would be on TV but not that year .
Any way Ill record it and try and make up some DVDs

Didn't go to Glasto that year, but I do know that a video exists from 1992 (42 minutes):

06/28/92 Glastonbury Festival VID (aud) 42

I might try and e-mail the guy to see if he'll do me a copy!

The same guy has the Chicago gig from '93 on video:

11/??/93 Live at the Metro VID (pro) 74
Chicago, Illinois

Hmm... Time to bargain! :D

I'll get onto the guy straight away (he's a New Order fan, so I may have quite a bit to bargain with)! 8)
