wire mag 808 site

Post by graham »

I see our website gets a mention in the Wire Magazine's recommended web section this month - apparently you can download all my radio shows from back in the day - not strictly true but better than a poke in the eye.
Why haven't D and A got a show on the new Xfm in MCR - write and complain!

I see the link to the 808 DJ page on their Cross Platform section on the website. Wouldn't mind seeing a scan of the article!

What is the e-mail address we have to complain to at xfm?

Doesn't seem to be in this month's "Wire" magazine (possibly February's?).

Good news about March's magazine is that there's (finally) a review of the Toolshed album in it, so not a wasted purchase! 8)

The Toolshed album got a brief mention in the review section of Nuts magazine about 5/6 weeks ago. They seemed to like it. I dont have that issue anymore but I think it got 3 out of 5.

Do you happen to know what else was in the mag, or exactly it came out - December/January?

Cheers 8)

I should still have it somewhere, I'll take a look 'round for it.

Sorry Nick, I can't remember which issue it was or what else was in it. I spied it at work and I remember just flicking through it and seeing the name "Toolshed" jump out at me from the page!

I've tried the review archive on Nuts website but to no avail.

You mean you actually buy it regularly? :P

For those that don't know, Nuts is a 'lads' mag featuring pictures of semi-naked women, and most stories revolve around sex! :P :D

It's very unfare to say that it bascially revolves around semi naked women and sex stories, it has the TV listings for the week and the week's sport. Things get very boring in work on a Wednesday, so I need something to do. By the way doesn't BB's Michelle Bass look great as a Blonde, see this weeks issue.

John

+ Now that I have found the issue in the huge pile of lads mags in my attic, I don't know if I want to give you the 2 line review anymore!

+ My mate Bernard who was in Manc with us the last time got me a years subscription to FHM for my birthday, another classy publication!

Please do! I'm interested -- the thought of Nuts reviewing Toolshed is pretty original...

Does it give the name of the journalist that wrote the review?

(Didn't recognise Micehelle Bass when I saw her as a blonde actually!)

Sorry, I would seem to have exaggerated, it's only one sentence:

TOOLSHED - Toolshed
Graham Massey follows up his bonkers EP with an album that combines jazz, techno and spacerock, sounding like a deranged toddler let loose in a scrapyard. ***

Do you have a scan of the cover (for the Toolshed site, obviously)! :D
