The Shamen and 808 State

Post by Peterrrrr »

I'm searching for Shamen bootlegs, and if I have right 808 State have played sometimes at the same gig. So is here anyone who got any recording with The Shamen?

Sounds like Energy at The Docklands Arena on 14th April 1990:

Unfortunately, I don't have a recording of it, but I believe that some of it was played on the radio?

Peterrrrr have you (or other Shamen fans) ever seen the 12" of Human NRG wich is labelled The Shamen Vs 808 State (or the other way around).

Its in Bold Capitols with a red and green design of the writing and background. I think it must of been a limited promo as no one has heard of it.

I think it is the same mix as on the album En-tact Massey mix, as mentioned in past topic Graham could only remember doing one mix (I think!).

Never heard of that one, very strange. I can't find it on the Shamen discog either. http://cathedral.then.net/shamen/

It did exsist as I nearly bought it on the way through London (V.Mega store) - but wouldnt of been to able to get the bus back home from Uni if I had. A couple days later on the way back through it had gone.

It was red and green with the same writing style as 808 State "1 in Ten". Wish I had paid more attention at the time but thought I would see it somewhere else.

It seems to be hard to find it just as to find Shamen bootlegs.

This may have been the promo 12" of the YMO Reconstructions remixes, I remember noticing it in a local collectors shop many years ago. Might it have been green vinyl or was that the Bombadin promo they also had. Unfortunately this was around the time when I got shot of my technics and all my vinyl, minus any 808 related I hadn't already got on CD and therefore never bought them.

Could have been the drugs I s'pose! Even Im starting to doubt it now - although I really did see it I even picked it up and had a look. One side was the large blocky writing (Shamen V's 808 State) in red writing with a green background (or the reverse colour scheme). On the back of the sleave the info said Human energy (labelled as 808 State remix) one side and a (non-808 State) Shamen track on the other (there might have been 2 on the other side??).

The problem was that not only did I have no money but I also only had an hour to get across London. Thought I was getting it on the way back so wasnt too bothered about the details.

I think you've missed the point, the track appears in loads of places, the question here is if that elusive 12" sleeve exists. I do notice that on the shamen discography there is one promo that is limited to 50 copies, but I guess that's not what Badger means either:
EN-TEK dance version

LP: 1990 UK (One Little Indian; TPLP22L) promo of 50 copies

04:36 Human NRG massey (remixed by graham massey of 808 state)
04:01 Lightspan soundwave edit (remixed by renegade soundwave)
05:19 Oxygen Reprise v2.0
05:25 Possible Worlds (unknown mix)
05:16 Make it Mine v2.4 micro minimal (no intro)
07:23 Hear Me O My People orbital - delays expected (remixed by orbital)
