808 @ Ascension, Manchester in June

Hi all,

I was in Preston last night (went to see the Bez DJ experience, which included Bez losing it to the 808 remix of 'Made Of Stone'! ) and there are posters up for an 808 party in Manchester.

It's at Ascension on Oldham Road in Manchester on Friday 6th June 2003; 10pm-4am. £10 advance

The party is called 'Step Back Formation' and features:

Shy fx/ 808 State/ DJ SS/ SAS - Skibadee/ DJ Slipmatt/ Influx Datum/ Carlos + Max One/ Kingsize + Sabre


The flier and web-site say 808 State - could be a DJ set, but this is the last place they played live in Manchester so could be a live show.

Well, it says this on the website:

" In the main arena Step Back have arranged an exclusive appearance from Manchester's legendary 808 State, who absolutely smashed it at last summers Castlefield Festival."

Unfortunately once again the case of a greedy promoter. I've been informed by Andy that it's a DJ set only.

Andy and Darren always pull off a top set anyways - step back is an old skool hardcore night btw, so might not be to everyone's taste
