808 State are playing a live date at the Village Underground in London this Friday 27 January 2012. 808 are on stage at around 9pm. Literally 5 minutes away A Guy Called Gerald will be performing at Redsonic in the Red Gallery at 5pm. The turn of the year saw the digital release of brand new compilation 'State To State 3' as well as 'State To State 2' and 'Outpost Transmission'. Available exclusively from the 808 State website here. Other major releases in 2011 included Blueprint and North At It's Heights. February 2012 will see the release of The Art Of The 12" Volume 2, to include two 808 remixes of 'Moments in Love'. 808 and Graham Massey featured on several BBC Radio Shows in 2011, all of which will appear in the sounds section. Also check out a recent 808 DJ mix at Clash Music. The documentaries Oldschool Renegades, High On Hope, They Call It Acid and 'Nish, Clish, Banging: The MC Tunes Tapes' (by Howard Walmsley) are all hopefully to be screened / released on DVD in 2012. We sadly lost singer Barrington Stuart and techno journalist Dan Sicko in 2011. R.I.P. |
